Default Installing AFE CAI Monday ... Few questions

I should be getting my Cai in the mail Sometime monday afternoon Can you guys give me a few tips on how to install it? I know the Stock Airbox and engine cover need to come off and the cai arm needs to replace it. Is it hard to get them off? what kind of tools are needed?

I had CPU problems when I put a home made Intake on my Cobalt. All the engine lights were comming on it sucked. but then again it was home made this ones made for the 4.7 ram. Last thing...will I need to mess around with the air sensor Chip like on my cobalt ??

Thanks

I just put in my K&N yesterday. 10mm wrench was used alot. I'd strongly reccommend a having a socet set nearby to make life easier. I used a screwdriver here and there. I also had to trim the trimming around thte heat shield a little. Took 2 hours and 5 min overall. Not bad at all. Good luck with it

Just put my intake on a few hours ago. I really like it. 2 10mm bolts and a regular screw driver and thats it.

The AFE I bought for my 2003 4.7 blocked access to the dipstick tube, I ghad to return it. Hopefully yours is different.

If it does block the tube, you can bend it down and still get to it.

Check with the AFE website, they should have a pdf on installation for your application.
As I mentioned to you in an earlier post I purchased my AFE for the 5.7 new and it came with excellent instructions however their tech staff is easy to work with and they can offer solutions to any problems you might have during your installation.
Let us know how it works for you on the 4.7!
Good Luck.

Or return it and get an AEM that fits....
