RE: Best exhaust?
I have the Flow 40 on my 3.7 Dak...and I love the sound...noteven thatricey at higher revs, and if it's under a little load, you avoid that raspy sound. Winding up in 3rd coming onto the freeway always sounds good, anda sub-2000 RPM pull up a hill at low speed sounds like an old glasspack V8. Luckily 3.7 is enough displacement for a little rumble. Do 4.7's and Hemi's sound better, sure...but for a $70 muffler on a V6 the 40 gets my vote.
As for the setup, I have all the resonators cut out and the muffler output turned down right before the rear axle. It saved alot of time and money to have the Monroe guy do that, as opposed to running pipe up and over the axle, and it helps the sound resonate a little bit. The trade off is a little extra in-cab noise. I'm sure rear or side outputs would wake up other drivers better, but I still manage set off the occasional car alarm with my exhaust
