Who has ditched there 20s for a smaller tire?
I wanted to switch from 17 inchers and put on the 20 inchers or maybe the SRT-1022 inchers. Are these that much of a bad ride that most want to trade "Down" to the 17 inchers??
I just hate the big gap between the tire and the fender well. I have the Fusions 265/45's on it but I would still like a better filler tire.

it's a truck..who said it should have a good ride......granted i like to have a nice ride in my truck but theres something you just cant do much about...personally, i would never trade down and get the 17"....i have the SRT10 22" and i think they ride fine....if the tread is low on your tires now, then try buying a different tire...i put Cooper's on my 20" and it rode much better then the GY Wranglers did
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, 5.7 Hemi. I need to buy new tires and currently have 265/70/17. I would like put smaller tires on or at lease skinner tires.
What is the recommended tire size for my truck?

I had an 03 hemi with stock off road 17 inch tires, the ride was incredible. Trade in for 05 with 20's for the look, what a mistake. I hate the 20's for ride and handleing not to mention the good year tires on the 20's are junk. Not made for dirt roads or in the woods. I had two puncturss from chipped stone roads. And these tires cost an arm and a leg.
Now I must say the 20's look great but a big trade off for the ride and handleing.
If you drive on drive hard surface high ways they are ok. But I think there is a lot of wieght on the ball jiont. I am antisapating trouble with the front suspention soon.
Next ruck will have the smaller tires, they fit my style better.
I all so thicnk the torsion bar front suspention on the 4x4's is not as good as 2nd generation coil overs, glad to see the dodge folks went back to coil overs in the 1500 series. I have not driven one yet, but bet the ride is more like the 2nd generation ride.
Love my HEMI though.

THe other reason i trade down is cost. I have had 2 puntures in my last set, so i switched over to toyos at's. great tire, but 300 bucks a peice...f that.
