As an US Citizen
you should be aware
than in the rocks inside the USA's borders known as
"Berea Devonian Shale"
in KY, Ohio, IN
and in the
"Green River Shale"
in Co, Utah
there is enough oil for several hundred more years
even if we double our present oil consumption.

I won't ever dump mine. I have two cars to choose from for saving fuel, and even if I didn't I wouldn't ever get rid of it, I have to have a truck. I am looking into getting a old diesel for the summer driving though, since I don't wanna use my baby for what I do, and I will get good enough mileage to make up for price difference.

Here in the uk gas is £1.03 per litre ($2) thats about $8 perUS gallon !!! This makes it way too expensive to run a truck on normal gas. My truck has a second fuel system installed which uses LPG / Propane ,you can still use normal gas whenever you want, but at the touch of a button you are running on LPG , which over here is less than half the price of gas. It cost me $3000 for the kit inc instal but i worked out it would pay for itself in 16000 miles . So if your keeping your truck for a good long time and if LPG is readily available it might be an option. The LPG tank on my truck sits long ways behind the cab and holds 130 litres which is good for 330 - 400 miles. With the modern multi point fuel injection kits there is no loss in power. Oh you cant convert Diesels.

Well I have my Z28 that I am sure will get worse mileage than your rams, and my neon is down, but I know it will be a very, very long time before I part with my pride and joy, I put too much work into the motor already just to give it up because of gas prices.

Hell, you need another choice on this here poll, cause I've had a 4x4 truck or SUV since before I got a license in 1983 and I'll always have one, Hell, I just within the last four months sold my 4 cylinder daily driver (too friggin' small for my 6'3" 270 lb. frame) and replaced it with a V8 4x4 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland...

I can't vote on this one. I would NEVER get rid of my truck. I can walk to work, if need be. Lord knows I need the exercise. But I have a Superchips set on performance, so I buy premium @ around $3.40/gal. When it starts to cost $100 to fill 'er up, then she have to be parked for a while. This sucks ***!
