I know on the 2500's you can just put a leveling kit on them and then fit 35s without a problem but with the 1500s a leveling kit allows fitting of up to 33" tires without trimming or rubbing (on some trucks you can fit 35" tires, 315/70 x 17, with stock off set style custom wheels.

33s fit on a stock truck ( stock 1500 with 20s have 33s) you can fit 35s with a leveling kit but might have rubbing issues. up and down your fine its the width that they say is a problem 12.5s will rub. i was going to get 35s on my truck but i decided not to because i didnt want to deal with the rubbing and anything under a 12.5 in a 35 i dont think woul dlook right ( i did my research for a while and this is the info i came up with)

Good point, but from what I have seen is that the 02-05 1500's with 20's came with 285/50/20 = 31.2x11.2/20 and then the 06-07 1500's came with 275/60/20 = 33x10.8/20.

Not a problem. I deal with this day in day out about fitting tires under vehicles stock so sometimes it can be a head ache.

****y's got it. The 35's won't make it up front stock. They will with a level kit, but it's a close fit and may rub a bit on tight turns. They will also rub during anything but very light off road use.
Also, the Nitto's are fantastic tires in the mud, probably as good as any M/T tire except Boggers or Baja Claws, but be prepared! The trade-off here is going to be noise on pavement as well as premature wear on the hard stuff as well.A coupleof my friends have them, love them, and keep getting them, but these happen to be individuals who have the bank account able to buy a setevery year or so because of the wear on the highway...

Hammer,
You are very right that the Nitto Mud Grapplers are a noisy tire that doesnt wear that great, but its works great offroad. The tires that we have been using for racing and DD is the Toyo MT. They are a E load range tire that is almost like the old BFG MT because they are great on and off road.
