A $120 mod that is WAY WORTH the money...Treat yourselves to this
Hey guys, I wanted to post this because I got in my dads ram yesterday, and it made me realize what a HUGE difference the sound matting I installed made. $120 will get you 100sqft, which is more than enough to do the entire truck and hit the problem spots like the doors (the bottoms are especially bad)with a couple of layers.
If you have a free afternoon, a 12-pack, and a buddy, you can do this easily. Takes 8 Bolts to remove the front seats, 8 to remove the back seats (you can leave the seats assembled, and have your friend helpremove the whole bench), and 4 screws per door (two on the bottom, one at the top, and the door handle) to remove the interior. Then lay the matting under the carpet, in the doors, and on the walls behind the back seats.
Not only does this make the sound system sound better, it reduces exhaust resonance inside the cabin, and REALLY cuts back on road noise. This was the most noticable difference in my truck and his. The reduced road noise really makes this a nice ride. Since we are always looking for new mods, and this one is cheap, i thought I might suggest it.

Sounds like an excellent and cheap mod to perform. I have a 3.7L stock 06 Ram which I don't really want to throw a lot of money into because i am looking to upgrade to Ram with a 5.7L. A quieter ride would be nice! Also looking at swaping out the stock speakers and radio.
