Hey, new to this site becasue i posted this same question on another dodge forum, got alot of views, but not an answer, butim thinking about getting an ebay cold air intake, and there isnt alot of options for the v6, the question is will a 4.7, or higher fit the v6, by the way mines an 08, and will the 07 model fit the 08, this is my first dodge, not that familur with it, always been a ford guy. but i am really likeing the new dodge except the millage, my truck before i go this one was a 98 f150 with 206k miles and i was still getting 22mpg on the high way, and im only getting 18-19 now, but hopefuly once i get her broke in she will improve, only have 1800 miles on it now, thanks

 

I would get the 3 piece Chromeintakes one. I got the2 piece and I was trying to get the 3 piece. The 2 piece is supposed to connect to the box and the 3 piece straight to the throttle body. I modified my 3 piece to fit onto the throttle body anyways. It sounds good and I got a decent gain in throttle response.

Here is mine, I got the one with the K&N filter. I also want to get another piece of piping to move it away from my belts because it is too close.

Welcome to the land of Dodge I a Ex ford guy my self If you purchased this 3.7 to get great MPG I sorry to tell you you not going to get it I sold my old F-250 with a 5.4 for this truck to get better MPG don't feel bad if you start reading the fourm you not the only one that made this mistake.

Besides that Love the truck it's undered powerd but Oh well live and learn.

As for the intake for the money hands down the stock Jeep libetry Intake is the best deal for the money take a look at passed threads you will see them about the liberty intakes links Ect.

You mite gain some MPG but not much trust me the best mod I found for these trucks is a rear anti sway bay then once agian read the past fourms.


Once again Welcome aboard as for some of us next truck will be a V-8 or SRT-10 you find out the 3.7 MPG not that great and the 4.7 V-8 gets same or better MPG as the 3.7 sad but true.

I couldnt run a 3 piece one becasue of where i live, my truck would get flooded out, when it rains here in lubbock, rain get gather in areas a ft high sometimes, and i dont think that combination would work, but i might be wrong

 

Well even my two piece drops pretty low as you can see. I wantedit to drop low though, you could probably turn the pipes the other way and get them to stay higher.It doesn't rain a whole lot here, maybe in the spring but I'm not worriedabout it with a truck.When I had my Civic I wasworried aboutit and I know a lot ofguys put on water filters to prevent the water from sucking in. Youcould get one of those.

If you get the two piece one like I got you will need to get a Sensor relocation kit or just figure out the right size to drill it. Like I said the two piece is supposed to hook on to the box right before the throttle body. IMO this eliminates the purpose of the intake as that box is big and the air bounces around in it. Since theydesigned it to hook to the box and the sensor plugs into the box they didn't make a hole for the sensor.

I found a kit at a sensor relocate kit at an auto parts store for6 bucks it had a couple of different sized bits and grommits and I was able to get a really good fit. Just drill the right sized hole put in the grommit and plug your sensor into the grommit. I was going to put a little silicone around it to help seal it but then I figured it was tight enough. Oh yeah I had to buy another coupler too since is was designed to hook to the air box. I need one more 3 inch to hook it to the throttle body.
