Gain MPG 2004 Hemi
Hey I am new to this forum, but i am about to get a 2004 hemi. This will b my first car I am 17 and very worried about gas!!!! does any 1 have any gas saving tips? Parts that will boost my MPG??
First off,[sm=welcomesign.gif] to the forum! If you're concerned about gas cost, you don't want a truck at all. Evena "compact" pickup will get horrible gas mileage. The best fuel-saving option is a light foot. Properly inflated tires, clean air system and good plugs will contribute. Synthetic oil will reduce friction, but the extra cost will offset the gas saving. Folks will tell you that an after-market air intake will help, along withbetter-breathing exhaust. The problem with those two mods is that it will sound so good and run a bit better, it will be very hard to keep your foot out of the injectors.
Having said that, make sure you post some pictures of your new ride!

There's really no way around it -- power + weight = poor mileage. Don't skimp and put regular gas in it either - use at least midgrade for the Hemi.
Look at it this way - you'll get great gas smileage!

welcome to the forum!!! as far as gas mileage you picked the wrong vehicle but just enjoy it... intake, exhaust, and tuner may help your mileage a little bit... Driving habits are really important as well...

But seriously, I'll agree with an above post, if you're worried about the gas mileage NOW, and haven't even gotten the truck, then you might want to consider something else....

What is the big deal with using regular in the Hemi? Why go for 91 or 93 oct? Can't the engine use sensors, etc to adjust to 87? IT seems like a waste of cash to go for super? Is the compression that high in a Hemi that it needs higher oct?
