With a diesel, you really want to make sure you get a block heater and you also need to be more concerned with your fuel jelling up on you in cold weather. I'm not sure what the temps will get down to where you're going, but if you've not owned a diesel, it's something to consider.

Good point. I have looked into this but Anchorage doesn't really get that cold. Nothing like northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan or Canada. The ocean helps alot to moderate the temps. Head for Fairbanks....now that's friggin cold. Thanks for the advice though. I will probably get a block and oil pan heater as well as a battery blanket for whatever I get anyway.
