Question about Transmission Covers?

So there is a bolt that allows a probe to actually be in the tranny fluid? All the bolts on mine are outside the gasket. For the cost of the A-pillar guage, new A-pillar handgrip, plus drilling and tapping the pan, seems easier to just put in a PML the next time I change the fluid, and not sweat it. I don't care who sees it, I'm the guy changing the fluid anyway. What am I missing?

1 - Mine Is A Dual Guage Pod... Doesn't Have A Handle..
2 - It's Not On The Bottom Side Of The Trans, It's In The Supply Passage Way, Right Where The Trans Fluid Comes Back From The Cooler. It's Really Easy.
3 - Why "Prevent" It With A PML... When There May Not Be A Problem In The First Place..
I bought the mag hy-tech and love it. It holds 2 extra qrts., has a magnetic dipstick to check fluid level, magnetic drain plug, and you can get a temp gage to replace the dipstick if wanted.

Seriously though, I think if I had a question whether or not mytranny was getting too hot while towing, I'd want a gauge to know excactly where it's at. I know that by having more fluid capacity, you will run a little cooler, but all the same, I'd want to know how hot it's running.

Wishbone: Get with the program, man. We're talking Trannies here, not diffs.
But actually, the Mag isan awsome diff cover, I just wish they made it in chrome.
RedRam: I would do the dual and put one to the tranny and one to the rear diff, but at almost 41, with 2 years of college football, almost 4 seasons of minor league baseball (as a catcher, no less) and countless seasons of semi-pro ball. One back operation, two knee operations and various other aches and pains, plus I have a lifted truck. Believe me when I say - I NEED THE FRIGGIN' GRAB RAIL!!!

Thats Why I Have an Oil Prssure Guage.. It Reminds Me It's Time!
I Am Not Saying It's A Bad Idea.. I Tow A 20' Camper With My 4.7 and Have Yet To Have That Needle Where I Feel Uncomfortable. I Am Just Saying - The Guage Will Tell You If It's A Problem! If It's A Problem Then You Know You'll Need That Extra Capacity...
