PCM failure
I have a 2002 Ram 1500 with a 4.7. Ihave a trouble code P0601 and from what information I've found on the net I will have to replace my PCM. The dealer's price is $715 part and $200 labor. Is this my only option? The only PCM's I can find on the net are for deisels.
Did you replace the PCM? From what I've heard that's the common fix is to replace the PCM - http://www.obd-codes.com/p0601
Just got the same engine code on my 02 Sunday. Does anyone know where the pcm is located that has to be replaced. Is this covered under some kind of warranties. Cheapest I can find is $600 not from dealer. I have heard you can get them from the junk yard and have them flashed as long as it is the same year.
The PCM is on the firewall on the passenger side. It's pretty easy to remove and replace, only 3 screws.

Already tried will not work. I am probaly going to order PCM from company. Talk to them today and they told me the code that I was getting even before I told them. They sound reputable and feedback is good. You just have to give them your Vin, Mileage and part #.
