A 315/70/17 is going to be roughly a 35x12.5 tire

Actually its going to be a 34.36x12.40x17 or as I said, it is roughly a 35x12.5 I wasn't going to get technical and break it down into the 10ths but, it is considered a 35" tire. My winter set of tires are 35x12.5 Super Swampers but they actually measure out to 34.5 in height.
Youhave a 2500 which does sit up higher then the 1500's, you could more then likely run a 36" tire but, the 315 would be perfect for your truck.

Agreed...level it out. It might help a bit with clearance if you hit some real bumpy stuff, otherwise it looks nice in my opinion. I've noticed allot of tire shops (Les Schwab, Big-O, Sears, etc..) are offering to leveling kit installs. On a 2500 it's cheap and easy (maybe $200 if I remember right) - if your local shop does it might as well have them do it while they are at it. The only thing I'd watch for is that they use steel spacers...I've seen urethane (sp?), and maybe it's fine, I just prefer the steel spacers
