Default Need Help with rear end and Electric Fan

Hey everyone i'm kind of new to this site and i'm probably gonna hit alot of topics that have been hammered. But i'm currently deployed to Iraq and don't have alot of time on the internet. I have a 2002 QC 4.7. And I want to run an electric fan and want to know the best one people have found or used. Also I want to run a LSD and swap gears. This is the info my girlfriend gave me from my glove box. I need some help understanding it. I also think it has a factory LSD and i've heard about the headaches with the C clips so can you swap a factory LSD for an aftermarket?

DJM: Axle front 205 MM HD DMD: Axle ratio 3.55 DRD: Axle rear corporate 9 DSA: Axle anti spin differe Torque converter- lock Transfer case

Also I am planning on running atleast 22's in the summer possibly 24's can someone help me out with a good gear ratio to go to. Pictures of my truck are posted here. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2973632
Thanks in advance for your help

First off, welcome to the forum, and more importantly, THANK YOU for serving. Well, you already have LSD. That's why the camels are such pretty colors Yep, you can install an aftermarket LSD. Apparently, most of us that have e-fans have Flex-a-lite Black Magic Extreme 180 fans, but some have the Viper, as well. If you're planning to do this after you return to the good ol' US of A, the fan is an easy project. The rearend is a different kettle o' fish. Unless you're really experienced, that's a project best left to the experts. You may want shorter gears -- 4.10s or 4.56s to help compensate for the increased diameter of the wheel/tire combo. Hope you come home safely.

Thanks for your help. You really don't need to thank me though it's a job I love. Well my trucks still sitting in the shop and they tinker with it in there spare time with the parts that i buy. Where is a good place to buy the fan as a combo because if I remember right from previous installs, you need to mount a sensor and the other fun stuff. I was thinking of the 4.56s but wondering if that would be to short of a gear. And any help on LSD's and experiences with them? Thanks again.

Moe's Performance has the best price I've seen on the Flex-a-Lite. Mine was $250 shippped. I think right now they're $240 shipped. That kit includes everything you'll need -- fan, sensor, controller, and hardware. 4.56 gears will do if you plan to put some larger rubber on. They will produce higher engine rpm unless you put on larger rubber. Higher rpm will use more gas, especially on the highway. I only know what I've read about rear ends (plus what I've seen in snug jeans ). Auburn and True Trac are popular. I plan to change the fluid in my truck's rear diff this spring, hoping the c-clips are gone-gone or at least all the pieces are in the bottom, safely held by the magnet.

welcome to the forum.....like Mike said, most people go with the Flex-a-lite 180 fan (which is a very easy install)....I have 22" on my truck and I went with 4.10 gears and 305/45/22 tires on mine and i'm pullin about 2000 RPM at 70MPH which is exactly what i was pulling with the stock 3.92 and 20" wheels....once you do that then ya deffinitly gotta hit up more performance mods cause we all know it's addicting...Stay Safe brother

Thanks again for your help everyone. So 4.10s would work better with the lower profile tire than the 4.56s? I've swapped gears in Wranglers and have always run 4.10s but I just pulled the whole axle from a 4cyl wrangler to go in the 4.0. As far as performance goes, I'm always looking for more power especially out of the 4.7. So far it has the K&N FIPK2, Throttle body spacer, superchips programmer,Air Ram Jetstream, JBA Titanium headers and by next week my true dual will be done. I have emailed Kenne Bell and they discontinued their 4.7 Supercharger so now i'm kind of lost on where to look for them. Has anyone run an underdrive pulley? And has it affected your Alternators output at all? Any one with more suggestions for more power they would be greatly appreciated. Also does anyone make an intake that mounts tothe SRT-10 Hood?

Yes my truck is fixed and running again. On my cardomain site the top of the page is the oldest pictures and the bottom is the newest ones. I'mnot really sure on the whole gear thing and what would be the better gears. Thats why I figured i'd ask everyone on here because we've all got close to the same trucks and someone has a better idea than I do. I just race redlight to redlight so I don't really go on the highways that often.
