where can i get a 4.7L high output alternator?
Belive Me Thats A Great Idea... Very Good Thinkin' on Your Part. I Already Killed One Alternator.
Nice Name by The Way.
Any Autoparts Store Will Have One. Ask Your Buddies or Find A Bad Alternator and Trade That so You Don't Have A Core Charge.

I had seen where others had the question about where to get a high output
alternator for their HEMI Rams. After a little digging and some help from Bill
Marine Chrysler in Springfield, Ohio, I found a 160 Amp unit that SHOULD bolt
up to our trucks. The p/n is for a HEMI Durango, but it SHOULD interchange.
Now for the bad news.....the 136 Amp unit can be had online for $112.80 USD.
The 160 Amp unit is $293.60 USD!! The p/n for the 160 Amp unit is 56028697AA.
The website I got the prices from was
www.newdodgeparts.com
FWIW, the list on the 160 Amp unit was $375.00 USD
and the difference in wattage between the two
was 345.6 Watts (V*A=W, using 14.4 Volts) Hope this helps.
makeitmopar.com has it for $275.25.
Item Number MSRP Core Price Price
56028697AA $367.00 $0.00 $275.25

I've been thinking about doing this too - I only uwonder what the output difference is at idle.
If you're looking for a lot more output, check out the late model offering at the bottom of this page - http://www.powermastermotorsports.co..._high_amp.html

If you are willing to spend a decent amount of change call up Iraggi alternators. they are the standard for all SPL competitors. check out any DBDRAG USAC OUTLAW class of spl competition and they will almost all use iraggi alternators. he custom builds them. you can get anything from mild to wild. biggest i've seen was a 320 amp one. as far as I know he also makes the custom brackets for them as well if needed.
also you will probably have to redo some of your wiring. the wires going from alternator to battery battery ground to engine block engine block to frame. with heavier gauge wires. probably the wires going from battery fuse box wouldn't be a bad idea. that will give you the wiring to carry the higher amperage.

WalkingOrgasm I have killed many alternators over the years with huge sound systems. A bigger alternator will work, but if you don't want to spend the money a 1-2 farad capacitor will do just as good. This will give you better performance from your system and not draw on your battery so bad.
yeah i turned it up the other day pretty loud and i realized that the truck said "check gauges" and then i saw the battery gauge was pegged at H... ima talk to the guy who installed it to see what he recommends i get
