Default Quieter Flowmasters anyone???

Since from what i read here alot of the catback systems cause resonance in the cab i wanted to know if anyone has tried a 70 series or similar muffler that are designed for SUV's to be deep but quiet.

When i do my exhaust i'd like to do a 1>2 setup either exiting in front of each rear wheel or behind each wheel. I want it to be a deep burble type sound. Something you can hear each cylinder pulse.. not just car alarm setting noise.

Thanks for the help

That is the one that I am going to get. I went by the local muffler place to talk to them about it. I told them that I wanted one that sounded good and loud when I "got on it" but quiet inside the cab during normal driving and they recomended the 70 series Flowmaster. I heard it on their truck at the shop and it sounded good.

They had one '03 Hemi and a Chevy Silverado with the same muffler. The sound was almost identical on both trucks. Maybe a little throatier on the Hemi. It was good enough to sell me. My neighbor has the 50 series on his F-150. His sounds great, but I am afraid that it would resonate on the Dodge.

I have a Flowmaster 50HD, CAI & Long Tube Headers. Very deep and throaty all the time, but surprisingly not really loud until you "get on it"...

That's a very relative statement. In my opinion that would be loud at all times and very loud when you get on it.

So am I to understand that you don't really have the droning problem in your Ram? I like the sound of the 50 HD, at least on my neighbors truck, but I use this as my daily vehicle in the winter and when it rains. I ride my motorcycle in Spring and Summer. I like listening to the radio and we use the truck as the family vehicle quite often. I don't want to listen to my wife bitch about a loud exhaust on a 8 hour trip. I know everyones experience is different, but if it drones it drones. Just trying to get a sense of how bad it really is or isn't. Thanks

Go take a ride in your neighbor's truck. Ask nicely....

The Magnaflow drones if you're "sensitive" on the relative scale. If the magnaflow is a 4, the Flowmaster 50HD would probably be a 7.5 on a scale of 10.

I don't know about Borla b/c I haven't ridden in a Ram with a Borla exhaust, but that might be an option, although it is more expensive.

I also have the flowmaster 50 truck/suv. It sounds great from outside but too quiet for my taste, I may be going with the super44. Interior resonance is no big deal with the 50suv, it sounds ok but not loud at all. At least not loud enough for a 22 year old kid.
