Default '06 RAM HEMI...WON'T SHUT OFF....HELP!

Hi!

I have a '06 Ram Hemi 4x4 with 13,000 km's on it. I have had no trouble at all with it. Today I drove to the mall and when I turned the key off and pulled it out I realized the radio was still on. I then realized that the truck with still running. All the guages go off when I shut the key off. If I cycle the key back to the run position they all turn back on and the truck seems to run fine....Although the motor never shuts off.

I eventually took the key out and pissed around under the hood seeing if some water got into the fuse box or something...>Everything seems ok. THe truck then died out. I then was able to start it up again using the key, however now there is a check engine lite. I read the codes and I pulled a P0700 code. I believe that is a transmission code...I have no idea how this problem would pop a transmission code but anyhow it did. I can now turn the truck on and off normally.

Has anyone else had something like this happen to them?

Cheers!

No one else does either, that is why you have a bunch of views and only reply to take it too a shop.

I would not even try to wager a guess given it is under warranty. Warranty work is the best service, free!!

i had a 1988 Chevy Caprice Classic which wouldnt shut off, could be something as simple as timing, as for the caprice i never found out the cause because it was stolen from right under my bedroom window.

if it is a transmission code, maybe the tranny is in between gears for some reason......it may not allow it to shut off, but that would be rare, I do not know what that code is, but i would agree, call or take it to the shop if it is still under warranty.

The p0700 code in the powertrain control module is there to tell you that there is a code in the transmission control module (TCM). You need to have the TCM codes read and see if that sheds some light......
