Default PCM try to upgrade or no ?

I have discovered, browsing online, that my truck could get a PCM reflash. Right now I have 56028773AD and there seems to be a 56028773AG. That is 3 updates. Should I try and get this update done. Does anyone have info on what this update does or fixes ?

Interesting quesiton. I never thought about whether mine had the latest code, and whether it was better or not.

Call your dealer and see what they have to say or see if they will reflash it.

It does sound like a good idea. Lots of unanswered questions about this one. "Will my truck run better ? Will I get better mpg ? What will the update do for my truck ?" I'm trying to get these questions answered. A shop foreman at the dealer was supposed to call me back and never did. I will hopefully talk to him tomorrow. If I get any info I will post it. So far all I got was they will do it for $129.99 CDN plus tax. If anybody has or gets any info on this please post. I don't want to do it until I'm sure that it will be to my benifit. What got me started on this was this link:

Well I talked to the dealer today. He says that I should get my truck PCM flashed from 773AD to 773AG because of the code P2181 that I'm getting almost every morning now. I have the truck booked in for Tuesday afternoon. I'm getting it done for $60 CDN.

What you can do is look at the sticker on you pcm and get the part number. Then search it on google and see if there is any updates. Then try and find out what the updates are for.
