What's with the clicking?
Ok so I bought my 02 Ram 1500 last January. And I am trying to sell it but that's besides the point. lol I have noticed this clicking noise lately, it gets louder when you hit the gas pedal. WHAT IS THIS? I just had the AC recharged as well as a fan fuse replaced (after dodge drained me for $300 and told me the fan had to be replaced). What could this noise be? Any suggestions?
Thanks guys!

Belt tensioner, something floating in the fan discharge? You're selling it after only a month? Was it making that noise when you bought it? If you grip the fan (engine off), can you move it in any direction besides 'round and 'round?
Might be the purge solenoid cycling on and off...
The evaporation control system prevents the emission of fuel tank vapors into the atmosphere. When fuel evaporates in the fuel tank, the vapors pass through vent hoses or tubes into the two charcoal filled evaporative canisters. The canisters temporarily hold the vapors. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) allows intake manifold vacuum to draw vapors into the combustion chambers during certain operating conditions.
All gasoline powered engines use a duty cycle purge system. The PCM controls vapor flow by operating the duty cycle EVAP purge solenoid
The duty cycle EVAP canister purge solenoid is located in the engine compartment. It is attached to the side of the Power Distribution Center

it's probably the small dinosaur that dodge puts under the hoods.
it looks like this:

he's about an inch tall, and simple gets a little aggravated for being stuck in the engine compartment for his life - he often goes on little rampages that may merely sound like "clicking" to our large, human ears.

it's definately under the hood. I heard it while driving got out and had the boyfriend push on the gas and it gets crazy loud and annoying...
