Default MDS on a 2004 Ram

Hey I have a question. We just bought a 2004 Ram 1500 5.7L. We currently get 13mpg on city driving.

My question is if its possible to some how get the cylinder deactivation system on our Ram? Is MDS a computerized system that I can get through a Dodge dealer?

Can the MDS be turned on in a '06 Ram MegaCab? I have to assume the HEMI is the same as the MDS models just withe MDS disabled in the computer? I don't see why they'd have additional lines just to build HEMI's for the MegaCab and 2500's?

in this truck, in the city...nothing. even the sticker says 13 will be your city mpg. you have several thousand pounds of vehicle to move...several hundred pounds of rotating mass to get turning...that takes lots of energy.

No much more. I get that mileage in town 12-14. it only helps on the highway where i get 16-18 easily. 16-17.5 is the norm for highway mileage.

Along with the programming, MDS Hemi's have special lifters...

So they really build 2 different 5.7L HEMI's? 1 with MDS and 1 Without MDS just for 2500's and MegaCabs? Seams like it would be more cost effective to build 1 5.7L HEMI and just disable the MDS for 2500's and MegaCabs.
