Default OEM Hella Fog Light install?

Has anyone here installed the OEM Mopar Hella fog lights?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge...mZ320215093979

My truck is not currently wired, how hard is it? I don;t have to cut the dash or anything for the switch, do I?

yes, that kit your showing is for rams without the factory wireing. first do you have the factory wireing behind the front bumper ? look for a empty plugbehind the driverside bumper.if you have it then get the other kit, everything just plugs in.

for the kit your showing, yes you will have to drill a small hole in your dash somewhere for the switch.

Quick question for ya 2007 ST. My 08 Ram isn't an SLT or Laramie but there is an empty plug in that area you refer to. For clarification, is that plug wired into the headlight wiring on the drivers side? If that's the case, once the computer is calibrated for fogs, do they come on with the low beams automatically, as I don't have any separate fog light switch on the dash?

Thanks

I had fog lights installed in my 07 ST by the dealer. I am assuming the truck did not have factory fog wiring. As for the switch location, I had them put it in the blank that my truck has just below the headlight switch. All he had to do was pop the blank out and drill it at his bench for the rocker switch. It's a little out of the way, near your knees, but it's a much cleaner install. Not sure if your 04 has a blank in the same spot or not.

I wish I had pics, but that truck is long gone. For what it's worth, when the dealer installed my fogs I had the ability to only have them on when the low beams were on. No fog/parking and no fog/high combo.

yes, if you have the wireing behind your d-side bumper ( empty plug) you are pre wired for factory fogs. get that kit at your dealer or ebay. about 135.00. part #82209047
the kit comes with everything to look and function from the factory. you get a new headlight switch. push in and fogs come on. they will go off with the high beams on. let me know if you need anymore help...i love mine, looks like they came from the factory.

Thanks for the info ST. Up here in Canada they want $350 installed for those fog lights. Especially with the wiring already there, $135 self-installed sounds a hell of a lot better to me. I'll take you up on your offer if I need any help.

Thanks again!
