ORIGINAL: Monstertruck

I just got an 07 in november and had the remote start installed for 300 using the mopar key fob. No extra thingies on the key chain. Just the big stupid Dodge Key. I hit lock twice and brrrrrumm.
Who did it for you? Like I said above the Ziebart dealer told me that they could do that, just the range is not great. With the one button remote it's close to one mile.

The do sell the two way ones if you want to pay a little more, more range and it will let you if it starts or if your truck is being tampered with (alarm going off).

I don't know for sure, but I pretty sure you can. My wifes 04 Envoy XUV has remote start with the factory remote. We wanted one that used the factory remote because it would roll down the rear window. I think we paid around 200-250. It was a couple of years ago. We are limmited to the range of the factory remote, but it works just fine. On my 06 I paid aroun 500 for a two way remote alarm and remote start. I bought an extra key off of ebay and had Ace hardware cut it for free. I had to do this because my 06 has a chip in it. I programmed it myself and let the company that installed my alarm use one of the old chips. Because in the 06's the remote and key is all in one. The 2 way remote has like 5 times the range.[/align]

one way does not let you know if your truckhas started or notand 2 way will send a signal to your remote saying its on. for the mopar 2 way there's a green light that flashes to let you know its on. 2 way is definately the way to go, my truck sometimes doesnt start the first time and it lets me know it hasnt started by beeping so all i gotta do is start it again with the remote.

i just got installed the viper 5900 sst.2-Way Security System / Remote Start System with Responder SST Technology

This Responder SST System from Viper is simply the most advanced 2-way Security and Remote Start system in the world! The interactive display on your Responder remote confirms all commands – virtually instantly – with easy to understand icons and text. It alerts users to security system triggers by beeping or vibrating when out of audible range of the siren. And of course this system will also start your vehicle with the push of a button, and you will get confirmation back that it started from up to one mile away. Please refer to the technology section for more information about Responder SST technology.
