not sure about the 1500's but you can get the 3/4 and 1 ton's with the 4.10's. 4.10's and 4.56" are the most common gear change on the 1500s for guys that tow, or have big tires, or both.
I am switching to 4.10s when i put my trutrac in.

none really - for the amount of money you will spend in the gear swap going from 3.92 -4.10 would not be worth it IMO - if you are wanting more gear go to 4.56, you will get your moneys worth then.
If you are happy with what you have now then keep what you have - if you are only going to be towing something once or twice in a year then there is really no point. Are you going bigger in the tire dept? If you are going to go to bigger tires then yes I would regear, but for what you described, personally I would keep the 3.92.

well, it depends on the size of rubber your going with. if your gonna run 35's, and tow everyonce in a while you will be fine with your stockers. If you wanna go bigger like 37's, or you want 35's and are gonna tow quite a bit, or want to keep you mileage you should probably run 4.56's but a 37" tire or above you will need gears.
