Hey guys while i was searching high and low for the pre wiring for my foglights (which i didnt find) I found this... what is it for?? Its is a plug that goes to nothing.

I suspect it's the connector for your underhood lamp. As you explore your truck, you'll find a lot of connectors that may not be doing anything. They sure come in handy sometimes. What year is your truck?

 

Turn the truck on, lick your finger and touch it.

Looks like its spliced from another wire, what does the other wire lead to.

[sm=sigh.gif] Yeah, I was just gonna let that one float. You can lick your finger and touch the battery and all you'll have is a slightly wet battery.

 

I thought so. As I was saying, you'll find several pretty handy, often unused connectors. For instance, under the steering wheel, behind the knee bolster, is a four-wire harness. One of those wires is a lime green/black stripe wire that is a switched hot. It comes in very handy for powering relays for driving lights, e-fans, etc.
