Default air filter problems?

I have a 2004 5.7 hemi ram, I recently put a K&N air filter on, however now every time I accelarate and the RPm reaches between 2000 & 3000 RPM there is a deep rateling sound that comes from the front right (location of the air filter) of the truck. The dealer tolled me that it is because the air filter is not stock, but I don't beleve this because my friends ram does not do this and he has the same air filter has I do. If anyone has had this problem or has any suggestions on what it could be I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you

The basic premise is crap. One more example of the dealer knowing nothing about his product. That said, I'd want to look for something loose, resonating at that rpm. Does it do it if you wind the motorup in neutral? It's possible the air box cover is not tied down tight enough.

That's what I tough too, I checked every part wich touchesor is near the air filter and tightened the air box good. I even check the thin aluminium cover over the exaust manifold because maybe the extra vibrations created be the K&N was causing that to vibrate. BUt after all this it is still doing it.

Mike you complete moron, dont you know anything thats not mopar cant possibly be good for your dodge?? HAHA LOL. youd think theyd have their own mopar gasoline .. anything to deny a warranty claim.

K&N rocks, as far as the filter box not being on too tight, i only have 3 clamps (keep breaking off and falling where i cant reach em) and it is still on tight. wonder if they sell just the clamps?

and regarding the noise, i cant see that being the case, its a reg k&n filter, not a CAI right?

There is extra sound but that is a nice clean roar, I'm happy with that , but then there is a rateling sound, now maybe it is because there is extra air being sucked in the engine that it makes that sound, that is possible. But the rateling sound that it makes is also pretty loud. It is, according to me, to loud for it to be normal
