There is a nice tool on the Crutchfield site that will tell you what will fit in your dash. If you buy from them, they provide the correct dash trim and connectors

Perhaps I'm not understanding your question correctly - but my '05 Laramie came with the factory installed navigation system and CD Player - the opening looks to be about the size you are asking about???

there is a guy on ebay that sells double din dash kits for 02-05 rams. its like a brushed aluminum finish. the guy is based out of germany. ive only heard good things about them. ill post the link when i find it.

Which kit did the guy use in the picture i posted? I don't see any plastic trim along the radio except the ears.

Maybe I should show that picture to my local mechanic/bodyshop and see if he can do it.
