Did the 05s come equipped with one from the factory? Is this something I can get from the dealer or aftermarket?

I see hundreds of options for the 06+ but nothing for 2005.

I have an 05 as well. I actually called a company that makes aftermarket factory navigation equipped radios for vehicles and i was told that they didnt have one for my truck either. Only the new square looking style was available for the 06+. Maybe look into an aftermarket(which is much better in my opinion, and a lot cheaper), or get a portable. They are cheaper and you can put them in any vehicle, no matter the make or year. I actually have the Garmin C340. It's awesome.

I did alot if research recently on this matter. The guy at the stereo shop swore you can by a bezel that fits an 05 with a double din hole. After weeks of reading forums I figured out that there is not a prefabbed bezel so I took matters into my own hands. This is what I came up with. If you have any questions about how I did it I can walk you through it and send you some pics of the steps. Well I was going to upload a pic but that is alluding me as to how. But if you would like just e-mail me and I will send you some pics. I put an Pioneer Avic Z1 (double din) in my '05 ram.

If you just want a navigation system, pioneer has one that is a single din with a 7" flip out screen. Personally i like that looks better because it looks like any regular deck from the outside.
