Probably like my '03. The PCV is on the passenger side of the motor, behind the Hemi-Hat. You don't say how many miles, but you can probably clean it a time or two before you replace it. It will look like a minature gas cap near the throttle body. I had to use pliers to unlock it. Clean it with brake cleaner. If the ball moves freely after that, you're good for a while.

Thanks for the info, yeah I got about 36,600 miles right now. I bought is used and I just wanna make sure the maintenance is up to date so I figure just replace it anyway.

After you see what they cost compared to a run-of-the-mill PCV, you may want to clean it. At 36.6K, it shouldn't need replacement. The shop manual just says inspect/replace every 30K.

Yeah I looked around on the internet and MoparDodge.com has it for around $32. Well just out of curiosity, do you know how often they're to be replaced or how many miles avg. they're usually replaced. This is my first Dodge and I just wanna make sure I treat it right. Wanna make sure everything is good on the maintenance side before I do any mods or anything else.

Like I said before, if the ball moves freely after cleaning, you should be good. My truck's coming up on 100K this summer, and I'll replace the PCV then. The manual specifically doesn't say when to replace it, just says inspectand replace as necessary.

Thanks, that was the answer I was looking for. I guess I needed the reassurance of when someone was going to change theirs and use it as a gauge.

Where is the PCV valve located on an 04 Dodge 1500 V6 3.7L w/ 79.9K. My check engine light is on and I'm getting a PCV valve code. Inspection is due this month so it's gotta go. [X(] And what does it take to replace one of these? Seems like a DIYer job.

Anything will help, Thanks!

Matt
