NEED HELP TRANNY Question
ok guys i have a 2002 1500 qc. it has 147k on it and ran like a top until about2 months ago when on cold mornings 32 degrees and below it won't go into OD until its warmed up and i was goin to just change my tranny filter because i don't know if the tranny fluid has ever been changed and i thought if i changed it it might mess it up and a buddy said if the fluids have never been changed i should flush it. what should i do or is this just a part of the tranny to warm the truck up? i've had the truck over a year and this is the first time this has ever happened.
I really can't give much advice on a flush. The tranny not shifting into overdrive until it is warm is a design feature of the tranny. All of the dodge auto trannys do it. It's always in the 20's here in the am. It always takes a few miles for the tranny to warm up, and shift into overdrive. After that she is good to go. I'm sure someone will chime in for you as far as a flush goes.

That is right. Most dodge owners think there a problem with the transmission, when the temp gets 32 degess or lower it takes a longer time for the trans to upshift. The lower the temp you may not be able to upshift into 3rd gear as well.
