Rear diff symptoms before problems?

Rear diff symptoms before problems?
Can anyone tell me if there are any symptoms before imminent rear-end failure?I had the rear diff fluid changed at the local quick lube while they were doing my yearly inspection last weekend. Since then, I have noticed that "occasionally" while from a dead stop turning left that I get a stuttering vibration for a second. I did not notice this before the fluid change. I had synthetic put back in, but I really wanted them to pull the diff cover and check for e-clip damage. They said that they didn't have the gasket material to put it back on so they only sucked out the old fluid and replaced. I watched and the guy did everything correctly. The original fluid looked like it had never been changed. So should I just pull the cover and look for metal? The truck has 47k miles on it, but I just got it November of '07. Thanks

If you have LSD on your truck (which most likely you do) then there is limited slip additive that needs to be added to the fluid change. It is possible that when the Jiffy Lube changed your fluids they failed to add the Limited Slip additive.
My sugestion is for you to find out if your truck is LSD and then take it back, have them change it again to make sure that there is no damage and have them add the SLD additive and have them use the right amount which according to the manual is 4oz.

if you use amsoil it already has it built in. but thats prolly why you are having issues. also i would go and buy a gasket or just some rtv silicone and bring it to the shop and make them unbolt your chrysler 9.25 and do a proper rear diff fluid change. theres a magnetic part at the bottom of the rear diff for a reason (to collect any metal shavings/debris). how much did they charge you?
lastly do it your own damn self. takes less than an hour, hell most of the time spent is scraping off the old rtv, thats why next time im gonna use a gasket.
