Yep, but the first thing you are going to need to do is determine where you want to put the temp sensor.
You can put it directly in the pan, either by replacing your pan with an aftermarket one such as a Mag Hytec which is larger, allows for better cooling, has the bung for the sensor in it and a magnetic drain plug so you don't have to remove your whole pan for changes. Or you can simply tap your existing pan to accept the sensor.

The other popular way is to cut into the low pressure side of the of the trans cooler line. You'd use an aftermarket fitting available at most auto parts stores and a simple tubing cutter to do this...

Sure YOU can. All you need is a digital camera when you go to do it. I've actually just bought the pillar post for the SRT, because my fat a$$ broke my pillar post getting in the truck during hunting season.

Important tip: Don't lean back while grabbing the handle and standing on a nerf bar to talk to someone. The plastic pillar does not fare well with 280 lbs. pulling it backwards outside the truck.

I was going to just put the gauge in the post and wrap all the wiring inside the post until I'm due for a tranny fluid change, but that's not for 17,000 miles, so I think I'll do the low pressure line splice and tap. I just don't know when I'll get it wired up. This double hernia is really not conducive to crawling around under the truck, but when I get to it, I'll have pics.

BTW, Advanced Auto has some nice looking gauges that match the white truck gauges almost perfectly and they are even lighted, if you tap into the dash lights. Under $20!!!

is the low pressure line the hot line going to the cooler, or the cool line returning from the cooler ? i'd think you'd want to put it in the hot line, since that's your operating temperature.

aren't there also some diagnostic test ports that you put it in ? i think there are on the 2nd gen, but i'm out of my little world over here.

Auto Meter is the same brand I just picked up in Advance for a third that price! But I got the white one to match my gauges. They have them on sale for 15% off and it came to like $21 after tax.
But you need to know what size hole your pillar has. I just got the actual Mopar one for a good price from Parts/Service and it uses a 2" gauge, the one you are looking at is a 2 1/16"...

They had the black one too, for the same money. 2" and 2 1/6". I just got the white one because it very closely matches my dash gauges...
