I'm not sure why you referenced the stock speakers. I do not plan to change anything on the stock system. I am adding a amp to power subs I am putting in. The stock sound is fine, I just need to add some thump which will come from the 2 12" subs I am installing under the rear seats....

for some reason, everyone that adds an amp seems to route around the factory amp. I spliced into the blue antenna wire and had it running to both the factory amp (to run the speakers) and to my aftermarket amp (to run the subs) and i had no problems at all.

I would get a cheaper head unit for $130 for like something i got that has the ipod connector a aux input etc. the stereo place just wired the stock amp to that and i still have enough inputs to add two other amp. Wut i want to do it have the stock amp running only the dash speakers and another amp running the 6x9's and rear doors, and my amp running the sub. Just so every one knows. The front door speakers on the infinty system are actually components. As in the speakers in the door are little subs and the dash are tweeters.

With the premium audio systems (Infinity) and with the can bus system. It easier to install an aftermarket amp and keep your stock amp,is toconsider to purchase an amp interface adapter like a "CHYAA" http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=904
mine works great with all the controls as balance, fader and steering wheel remote controls. I also have it connected piggy back to a "CHYX" http://www.discountcarstereo.com/detail.aspx?ID=931for audio inputs for my xm radio and zen portable mp3 player.

Thanks for the CHYA post. That looks great if I can find one locally. I will have to search around!

Has anyone else used one of those CHYAA connections he talked about? I looked into them on the net and they look pretty easy to install and use. I'm not sure if I can get one locally or not. I am doing this install tomorrow so I'll have to hit up some local shops today.

So you are just adding a sub amp? Looks like it with the one channel Clarion. Use the loc and tap on at the rear speaker wires where they go into the door jam. Right rear: Pos-dk. green/lt. green; Neg-dk. green/gray. Left Rear: Pos-gray/lt. green; Neg- gray/dk. green. Thats the simple and economical way to do it.

I woudl go with that interface for the canbus. adding a line out converter sucks and so does using a cheap *** head unit.

I've used many LOC on systems and they have been fine...I think for now I'm gonna use the LOC and maybe down the road I will get one of those adapter for canbus...

Thanks
