Default Adding an amp to infinity sound

Can someone explain to me how to add an amp to the factory infinity sound system. I am leaving the factory HU and just want to add an amp. I purchased an LOC (line output converter) and was wondering if I could just wire that into the rear speaker wires? Directions would be greatly appreciated....

By the way the amp is a CLARION DPX11500 (1500w X 1 @ 1/2 ohm)

Thanks!

I paid to have mine hooked up. I tried to do it myself, but it did not work out.

I think the Infinity HU on our trucks has a factory Amp so it is like having to buy a converter and thenthe Amp. I am not sure, I wanted to do the same, but ended up just replacing the complete system.. It was just easier...

Isn't there already a factory amp on the infinity systems (behind the glove box I believe) that you'll have to bypass if wanting to do this install?

That is what I am trying to figure out. I don't want to change any of the existing speakers or set-up, I just want to add a subwoofer and amp....most stock stereos do not have Pre-Outs so you have to install a LOC....could I just wire the LOC into the rear speakers?

I'm honestly not familiar, I usually have all my installs pro-done. Why not consult an installation shop, I'm sure they'd give you word of advice for free?

i had the same problem trying to add a subwoofer. you have to bypass the old amp that is located behind the glove box. i tried to do it myself and i could not seem to get back there to it. besides, the factory infinity speakers are cheap paper woofers. if you add an amp, it will not change the sound much but you will prolly blow them. if you want to do it right. replace all the speakers and get rid of the cheap crap. take it to a shop and have them install it. if you just hook up the LOC it will fight with the other amp and will sound all distorted.
