What kind of Travel trailer do you tow?

RE: What kind of Travel trailer do you tow?
The trailer I have is a 30' aerolite and weighs about 6500lb loaded. When reading this keep in mind that I have never used a sway bar, just the load levelers.
Prior to the truck I currently have, I pulled it with a 2002 4.7L QC. It was a quite sluggish on the hills (on the way to Watkins Glen loaded up with beer) and she swayed a lot.
Then I bought a 2004 5.7 QC. Pulled like a champ. She still swayed so I tried to load the beer in the front of the camper (for proper weight distribution). She still swayed so I nominated myself to carry all the firewood for the trip. With a bed full of wood (no pun intended) 80 mph was no problem. Minimal sway as well.
As far as the 6.7L goes. Haven't done it yet, but I guess I'll be carrying all the beer, wood, food, beer, liquor, beer and race flags that they own.

This was before airbags. We have 4 bikes. 4 coolers. party tables. about 200lbs just in gear. clothes food. 100gallon fresh tank full. Yea this thing is struggling. I have to say though that it does not sway at all tows great only when on flat ground. its a keystone nrg 23ft front sleeper. everywhich way we measured 25ft and 27ft tongue to tailgate.

not really when we go to the middle of the desert. I also forgot it has a huge gas tank for the fuel station. We tried filling up water at our destination but getting it from a gas station didn't seem too sanitary. I think the trailer is 5500lb empty with no water no gas just bare. load up up about 1000lb in liquid, about 1000lb in bikes, then about 500lb just in food and drinks plus whatever clothes and everythink else is im pushing 9000+ lbs. I can tell you a hemi 1500 is not a good truck power wise.haha And before the airbags, those rear bump stops were about an inch before they would bottom out. We really need to upgrade but trucks are too expensive especially for a mega cab long bed.
