noooo u cant use it on the 4.7... I know it makes changes to the MDS and 4.7 doesnt even have that. Totally different program.

isn't the 1500 mega cab a 2500? does the 2500 Hemi have MDS?

i have got the same thing, is the update for every one. did you put your back to stock after you heard the noise and if you did, did it still make the same noise.

 

you need to update the device, yes i put it back to stock first and the noise was gone. The update is prety easy, jsut install the software that came with it and call tech support if you need help, but the update did fix it.

To be completely fair I am not willing to make a statement about mpg with the programmer until I have a few tanks of gas burned with it. MDS does seem to stay engaged more with the economy program.

 

I would have to agree with the above. I've had my Edge for maybe 6 weeks now? I've run it in every mode for at least a week now and can describe them well for y'all:

1. Economy will run on 87 which is awesome and I've gotten about 1.5 - 3 mpg better than stock. Typically it's about 2 mpg better gas mileage. Not only does it help the truck stay in MDS more often, it reduces how often the truck downshifts during acceleration. I love this mode for long highway trips. Btw, one of my 4 quadrants is the MDS mode, so I watch it CONSTANTLY.

2. Towing mode is PHENOMENAL. I have only towed my boat which is about 3,200 lbs, but we towed it around town and 110 miles on the highway. Not only did I average 12.2 mpg towing (2+ mpg better than in stock with tow/haul), there is A LOT less jerkiness when accelerating. I'm not quite sure how it's creating more low end power, but it's very noticeable. My fiance loves it b/c the truck is much quieter when towing and doesn't seem to work as hard. This mode does take at least 91. If you have it in tow mode, but without tow/haul engaged it seems almost identical to economy, but you're running premium gas.

3. Race mode is very similar to extreme, so just see mode 4 below.

4. Extreme is my favorite mode and the one that sees the most use. Shift points are crisp, acceleration is great. 0-60 times of 6.5 - 6.7 consistently. While Extreme does let MDS kick in, the slightest additional touch of the gas pedal usually causes it to go back to V8 mode. But the ability to surprise bmw's, mercedes, and mustangs who think they own the roads is priceless.

And overall, the pod/monitor look awesome. I have MDS mode, IAT, ECT, and TFT displayed at most times and I've gotten the color to match the color of the factory lights. What more could you ask for?
