You know it's illegal so if you choose to tint the windows then accept the consequences like a manwhen/if they come.
Right on the money! Like I said in a similar thread, I don't need another reason to get pulled over. Make sure you have legal tint (if they can put what percentage it is on the invoice, have them do so), then if you think you might have some Barney give you a hard time later on, go by the state police barracks and have them give an officail OK to your tint. If you get a BS ticket sometime, you can show the judge that you checked the laws, followed up to assure that you were within the law, and that the cop who gave you a ticket must not have calibrated his eyeballs before his shift. That's better than showing up whining about having photophobia and the judge complimenting you on your nice summer tan, then finding yourself in even more trouble.

LOL! All mine are below the minimum, but I'm such an outstanding citizen, I've never been called on my window tint.

LOL, that works too. Of course, cops can smell attitude (which is really odd, since most of them reek of it themselves), so if you give him a reason to look for problems, he will find some.

Me, I always have my the white oval with the "RN" in it on my tailgate, I play the trauma nurse card every chance I get. I got pulled over doing 110mph once and didn't get a ticket ("I just got paged on a trauma alert!"). I got lucky with that guy, methinks.

I've never figured out why some guys who get mouthy with a cop that pulls them over think they have a right to be pissed when they think the cop is giving them a chickensh*t ticket for some minor offense.

Most cops just use the "chicken**** ticket for some minor offense" as a legal means to establish contact. It gives them the chance to run your license, smell for drugs, look for weapons in plain view, etc. Like smitty said, if you're nice and respectfulthere's a huge chance you'll be let go with a verbal warning.

The safest way to protect your self is get a form from DMV saying that you have a vision problem like Catracts. Get your doctor to sign the form and then take it back to DMV for there ok . After that you just carry the form in your glove box. It's good for anyone who is driving your truck. And DMV will pass it at inspection time. Mine are 20%.

Like I said, you can't just always ask a doctor to sign a form; you might find one who will do you a favor, but most don't spend 6 years of med school and 4 years of residency to act like a 21 year old making a beer run for his 17 year old cousin. Anyone old enough to actually have cataracts ought to be mature enough not to try to circumvent the law just because they want dark tint.
