your best bet is to do nothing, leave it stock, cause once you start addin all these mods, that right foot is gonna love the new "power" and ur gonna be kickin ur self in the *** for 2 reasons, casue the mpg will stay the same or more likly drop, and still wont be able to hang with the big boys (v8's)but thats just my 2 cents.

I was the same as you wre when i first bouight my dodge, wanted to do all the upgrades and mods, still might do some (powerwire) but not gonna go crazy with them. Im not gonna put an exhaust on, casue i dont want that the v6 sound, so the cai is pointless. ive read alot of threads, and done research, like alot of people have said, if it makes that big of a change in mpg, the truck would come stock with these features, i might be full of crap, and if i am please let me now

I had just orderd the intake listed from afew post's above
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/00-01...ayphotohosting

I will let you all know how it goes and post pics after it is done. I am not expecting ANY improvement in preformance or milage. I just like the chrome intake tubes!

Hey i almost bought that exact same intake but i was wondering if anyone had any past experience with it. Do they really improve the sound when you put your foot into it because it seems too good to be true for under $30. If so, does it actually improve anything and what would improve if it were a Cold air intake?

oh and one more thing, for those with the Trueflow XDI Intakes, do you notice an increase in performance and sound?

I do not / did not expect any mounting brackets. and figured since it covers so many models that some modding would be neccicary. I am kinda crafty and have a nice big Ag. repair shop to work in. With tools for almost any job. And quite a lot of scrap metal out back to pull from for making brackets. So to me it was no biggy. I am the exact kind of person that would wrather pay $40.00 for an intake and spend 3 hours making it fit and look right, than to pay $200 for one just so it will bolt in in about 10 minuts! I am ALLWAYS for saving money when I can build it.. or make somethingthat is a "close to" fit work. I orderd the intake yesterday ( 03/13/08) We'll see how long it takes to come in. As I said in the earlyer post, I will post before/after picks and a detailed report of how the instalation went.1 week after it is installed,I will make a follow-up post of the MPG difference and preformance difference of this particular brand & unit.

alright sweet
i was looking last night for some intakes on ebay motors as well and it showed some that were different than the chrome intakes and they had some clamps but they were two piece, but yet they still come with all the necessary materials to install them for the same price as well. so idk what the deal is with these but i prob cant expect too much from something that cheap. I'd rather have it cheap too and make it work myself. thats all the fun![8D]
