Default I'm torn!!!

All,

I'm at a serious crossroads here as to what my next move should be with my truck. I have my tint, my bed liner, bed cover, cab lights, system, and some other things.

I want to change my truck drastically, though. I want...

KMC XD 775 Flat Black Rockstar Wheels (20x10): http://www.topguncustomz.com/Wheels-...DRockstarBlack

With either Dick Cepek FCII's or Mickey T MTZ's (33x12.5x20)

If I stick with this tire size I will level the truck as well: http://store.topguncustomz.com/store...mp;i=152336146

NOW HERE'S THE THING...I KNOW that in the future I would like to lift my truck at least 6"...

Eventually, I want a 6" lift: http://store.topguncustomz.com/store...mp;i=233003606

HERE'S THE ISSUE: I would prefer to do the wheels, tires (35's), and 6" lift all right now and be done with it, but I don't believe I have the funds to do so at this time. I could put it on credit, but I'm fresh out of college and would like to avoid this debt issue.

Thinking of money I should just get the leveling kit, wheels, and 33's for now, but if I do this, then realize six months down the road that I'm ready (financially) to get the lift it seems like I'd be wasting money in the long run on the leveling kit and 33" tires (when I'd be upgrading to 35's with the lift).

What should I do?????

I apologize for the long post, but I would appreciate your opinions.

THANKS

Do the new tires you are looking at fit your stock wheels? If so do tires and lift then in a few months switch the wheels.

That's a great idea, thanks for replying!!

I have no reason to believe that the new tires wouldn't fit on my stock 20's...good point.

Now here's then next question...should I change my gears to 4.56??? How much does that cost?

And what am I sacrificing in terms of ride quality and gas mileage by lifting??

You don't have to re-gear but you will want to. Maybe someone with a lift will tell you how it handles and rides etc....

Nice list. I would suggest SAVING for this. I would also ask the Top Gun guys if the leveling kit is compatable with that lift.If it is compatable I would go for the leveling kit now. Save for the lift kit, wheels & tires. Tires will run you probably $250 - 300 each (depending on the tier some off road tires are as much as $500 each) x 5 tires (remember the old spare will no longer work for a spare because of it' size). You may also have to look for an alternate mounting place for your spare tire. I just put 33"tires on my truck and it looked like a fairly tight fit for the spare tire. I have seen many off roaders mount their spare tire in their bed when it can no longer fit under their vehicle. Ball park figure you are looking for 5 tires, 5 rims, mounting/balancing and your lift is going to be $3500 - $4000.

The shoes, rims, lugs nuts& mounting/balancing I just paid for was about 2300 and change.

Your mileage is going to go down. I lost 3 + mpg on my truck by adding a leveling kit, 33" tires and a winch.

Down 3+ mpg's with a leveling kit...that's crazy!

I would have never guessed that!

My truck is now modded to the hilt and at almost 7000 lbs. it's now heavy as hell. Even with this weight and 35" tires, I get close to the mpg's I got when itwas stock, maybe1 mpg less.

My combo of CAI, exhaust, LT Headers, tuner, e-fan & 4.56 gears have counter balanced all the size & weight to give me near factory fuel economy, if I can stay the hell off the accelerator!

Also, the level kit will go when you put a suspension lift on, unless you ditch the rear blocks and get ones that are taller to compensate for the added 2" up front (if the suspension lift is even compatible with the level kit - I know this is possible with an 02-05 torsion setup, but not sure if the level kit can stay with a coil over).

the leveling kit isnt wat makes your gas go down. mine didnt budge. its the tires, rims, and winch that got pirata. get the leveling kit and the tires IF you really want them and just save for the other stuff. your ride will def be different with the 6in lift. im pretty happy with my leveling kit tho. im just gonna get bigger tires later on, keep the rims
