I ve been off putting a system in my truck. right now I got a sony head unit that sucks, some crappy sony speakers, a alpine mrp-m500 amp pushing a 12" alpine type r sub in a ported box. in the near future I plan on getting some boston acoustics speakers all around and in the dash, an alpine mrp-f300 amp, a alpine head unti thats ipod ONLY, and another type r with another 500w amp. There will soon be 1500rms in my truck. But even with one sub my interior lights dim. I know of adding capacitors but how hard is it to add a bigger altenator. Oh im also looking to get a odyessey battery that have the size as normal ones. And for those that have ripped out their interior, How hard is it to pull the carpet. oh and by the way the two subs will be in a ported box right behind the drivers seat so that half seat will be folded up.

 

Heres two pics, I get more up. The box is actually perfect right there. I just need a way to bolt it down so I can toss the bungie.

 

Has anyone used the mopar evs II secutrity system. I hear the truck has everything set up, you just need the keys and the dealer to reprogram the computer. If you have it can you tell me what sets the alarm off, opening doors, touching the truck, etc. I just need to keep the honest, honest. Everyone knows if some one wants what you have they will get it some how.

how do you like that head unit. Its the ipod only right. Over the summer, I plan oneparking my truck for a week and ripping all the interior out to replace all the audio. I plan on getting.

I have a question if I add a amp to the front preamp imputs on the head unit will the orginal wire harness still work if I add tweeters that are powered by the head unit or should i just run 4 amps.
Also is it just me or does the front door speakers rattle the door panel like crazy. I found the noise coming from where the plastic door panel touches the actual metal door. Is there a way to dynomat that.

 

i love the head unit. it is ipod only but you can buy a 6 cd changer to attach to it. but i got the ipod so i dont really need one. ya im replacing my e's with s's soon so my ohmage matches. the front speakers DEF rattle the door panel. i thot i had already blown my speaker and was pissed but then i put presure on the door and it stopd. my whole interior rattles ha. its worth it tho. i need dynomat probably

 

i had the same unit and I dont like it...

the thing is u need to use your hands to make it work, it doesnt have a remote controler that handles all the functions :-(

i will change it by next month!

i bought the remote but is just for volumen and source :-(

i guess sooner or later they will build a controler that work for that unit...

I am looking into a nav system but i need to put some money together after i bought sub box, alpine sub type R! i am broke :-( i hope for next month to be able to buy the amp so i can continue building my system!!!!

 

Well i finally made up my mind to have two type R's in a Sealed box just how its sitting right now. I heard alpine came out with a new ipod only head unit so Ill see that one. But type R's are the best cheaper subs out there I like it. I just hate how my rear veiw won't stay up.
