I only get around 18 on the hwy. Around town I get 14 - 15. When I am driving around, on my take offs I never get above 2000 rpms, I drive really easy.

i've gotten as bad as 10mpg...and i have a 3.7 liter. wtfiswrongwithme
Unfortunately, being underpowered often yields worse fuel economy than having a huge, suped up engine under the hood...

Hammer we all know youve got a ferd 4.6 in that dodge.
but this is true because the engine has to work so much harder to get up and goin.
its basically a bell curve

hammer whats your take on cleaning the TB every 1500 miles along with the CAI.

10k typo???? hrm

I have a stock 2wd Hemi QC and I can get 22 on flat highway at 55-60. This is on summer gas only! On the MTBE crap they ship in the winter it drops 1-2mpg. Over 500miles per tank on long trips. Get EZPass so you dont have to stop at tolls.

Local is 15. Of course if I'm averaging 70mph, milage goes down to 17.5-18

Coasting and easy on the throttle is he trick. Im actually kind of impressed with the MDS milage for such a big truck. Wish it was better, but it could be alot worse.

well I was really really really bored, almost thought about looking for a job, well not that bored. Drove to Austin (from SA) at 51mph I got 25.9 mpg!!!!
On the way back at 65 I got 18.5. I didnt think to turn on my nav system to see the elevation change. But 26 mpg, damn, just keep the ol bird finger handy for the guy behind you honking. I'm sure some of yall will say that's too slow but for the people getting 13-15 mpg that's a huge difference.

Btw this was manually calc not the overhead.

Now sure on a long trip you have to weigh the cost of the increase time in the car with the kids but it allows for more beer money.

Just preventative maintenance people......oil change every three thousand.....clean ur throttle body 2/oil change (half way through and during the oil change)....anyone with any type of aftermarket intake clean ur filter 2 times per oil change so every time you clean ur tb.... spark plugs every 10,000 miles....every oil change stp fuel injector cleaner w/ 107 octane booster and 1 tank premium truck will run like a dream
at first i read spark plugs every 10,000 miles, but then i read the rest. is this not complete over over kill kill?

also a lot of those filters actually work better with some dust/dirt on them as it catches more dirt from flowing in, a clean reusable filter will allow more particles in than when its been used a bit.

cleaning your throttle body every 1,500 miles???
F*** stp use marvel mystery oil every once in a while in the gas tank, also may want to pour some in the crank case.
Clean out the PCV valve.

if anybody else does what the guy with the "too large sig block" says and thinks it does something and/or is worth it please feel free to put in your $.02 or is it $.2 lol

BTW even chrylser (king of early maint) adv to change plugs every 30k miles.

I agree. I bet the 2 MPG less that I get costs me less than the extra maintenance 05 Cobrakiller does. Definitely overkill.

And 05Cobrakiller, your filter will filter better as it gets slighly dirty. It may not flow as much air but it will filter more particles.

That schedule is absurd. It would be easier just to buy gas. I would be cleaning my TB every ten days with the miles I put on.
