Default MPG increase

it seems like everyone is always complaining about mpg.....CLEAN UR FOCKIN THROTTLE BODIES....it would help..... my truck stays around 17-19 mpg.....also if ur runnin a resonator replacement on ur engine like this picture here..... then you need to open up the exhaust as well get rid of the focking exhaust resonator....i get almost 20 mpg at 65mph......granted i have a rcsb but it shouldnt be to big of a diff i am also 4x4 so i weight more as well.....on another note my truck usually gets in between 5-10 mpg cause i like my gas pedel...so u also have to drive smart.....just my .2 good luck people

I cleaned my PCV and my fockin TB.. aired my stock GY's to 35psi and i coast all i can.. never get above 2000rpm. MPG with 87oct is 12.6... 93 is 11.7. I have 40k on a seemingly well maintained truck.. with just a AEM Intake. I drive mostly country road to work.. short trips but about 45-55mph which should be perfect MPG speeds.

Quite aggravating by now..

Good point, Killer.
An extensive search will show that I've been preaching it for a long time. I clean mine once a year and by the crud I get out of it, I should do it more often.

Damn, Slideways, I've got my 1500 QCSB 4x4 weighing just shy of 7000 lbs with all the mods and junk on it, and with 35" tires I'm getting a solid 13.5 all around and 16.5 on trips, no MDS and I don't baby it by a longshot. But I do have a tuner, CAI, exhaust, e-fan & headers that I'm sure help mpg's...

Do you get the 17 - 19mpg on the hwy or city, because that is what I get on the hwy, it's the 14 in town I don't like.

I got a question about these air filters.
https://dodgeforum.com/upfiles/81798...470A423FDC.jpg

since they are in the open compared to the stock air filterswhich are covered, wouldn't they get clugged with dirt if one lives in a dusty area? What about when driving in a 2000 mile trip. wouldn't the k&n air filter accumulate a lot of dust? I have been trying to get one but I don't know much about them other than they increase the mpg.

Carbon deposits and tar like gunk
should be cleaned off
throttle bodies, intake runners, backsides of intake valves, piston tops, etc
but don't be surprised
if your MPG
goes DOWN
for 1000 miles or so after a cleaning.

Carbon deposits in the combustion chamber and on the piston tops raise the compression ratio and actually improve MPG until they become so excessive they cause pre-ignition or detonation

Just preventative maintenance people......oil change every three thousand.....clean ur throttle body 2/oil change (half way through and during the oil change)....anyone with any type of aftermarket intake clean ur filter 2 times per oil change so every time you clean ur tb.... spark plugs every 10,000 miles....every oil change stp fuel injector cleaner w/ 107 octane booster and 1 tank premium truck will run like a dream
