i guess logical thought kept them together, as about 95% of the vehicle is the same. I'd almost go as far to say that a 4x4 and a 4x2 has more differences than the 4.7 and 5.7. Spend some time and look through the last 500 posts and tell me how many posts worked for both the 4.7 and 5.7. Since DF doesnt want double postings you would want a 4.7 only area, a 5.7 only area and then a 4.7/5.7 common issue area? Think they should also come out with a useless post area, wait they do.............
also since the headlights changed in 06 (right?) should we have split up the 3rd gen section for that as well? And then also a Hemi section and a Hemi with MDS section?? hrrmmmmmmmmm................

if you pay attention my answers, comments and suggestions to valid questions aren't smart ***, but generally usefull.
Now if you want to see people going back and forth check out when PGH and I are arguing. Although the last post on shampoo and conditioner we actually had the same view point. Couldnt believe it.
Now if this were a forum for mechanics or restorations then I could see breaking down the sections into engine types as well but for this mainly casual forum there's no need to have too many sections, a simple 5.7 or hemi written along with the subject line would suffice. Some people may know a lot about one engine but have a diff motor and may not even read through that other section and then posters would miss out on their input.
Hope this response was more to your liking. Gotta run pissing off people in theatre with bright *** iPhone screen.

i think it's due to the fact the differences between the trucks is minimal really....and there's been enough info posted before that if someone does a search, they will usually yeild more then enough info to answer their question...granted there is a seperate CTD section, but ya gotta think how far back that goes in the trucks...i'll give ya the fact that the 4.7 is still "new" to the trucks just like the 5.7 but, i don't really think there is a need to have a seperate sub-section

If we had two sections members would not get as many opinions and answers as the Hemi people would stick to the Hemi section, 4.7 to the 4.7 and the general 3rd Gen questions would get less views, hense what I mentioned, less opinions and help. Not to mention it would cause a rip between the owners, screw that. 4.7, Hemi, it is all good.
It would also be a mod nightmare. Pay us to be mods and we will consider it![Smile](https://dodgeforum.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
By the way, as a mod I have to ask you to back down your sig pic, 500x250 is the max we allow, just get it close.
Thanks
