Default Cutting out my Cats

well i posted up a post yesterday where i heard a rattling noise coming from somewhere under the truck. brought it to my shop and my buddy put it on a lift and checked things out. turns out i got a bad cat, so over the weekend im getting it cut out and replacing it with a striaght pipe.

is it gonna change anything? or no? i know ill hear a little more sound but any other effects out of it?

make sure you dont have emission tests in your state. i hear it a 10,000$ fine if you get caught. but here in florida they dont check anymore, still illegal but they dont check, so i dont care.

ya thats fine, im not saying dont do it, just letting you know before you do it and end up with a fine because you want a little more flow and sound from it.

I appreciate it man, but there is a shop 20 miles from me that does it openly and they still have not been messed with. And btw, we do not have emissions tests or inspections but it is still illegal.

Chopped em off the day I bought it. check engine light came on bout two days later, o2 sensor code. Tried to fix it with o2 sensor spacers but to no avail, although there are high quality o2 simulators out there if that lil' yellow light really bothers you. I felt a significant power boost, and since I got a 40 series on there it is just so damn loud ive gotten pulled over for it but thats just cuz it was raining out and I was turning into a parking lot and my wheels spun and the engine redlined, but I only got a warningand he didnt ask any questions about my exhaust.

The only issue with living the the engine light on is that unless you run a check periodically you won't know if its throwing a new code that you should have checked out, unless the light changes color when you hit 5 codes. Ha
