Default Torque convertor going out?

I have experienced this problem about 5 times now. Always happens when the truck is cold. Only on the first time accelarating and only when going forward (I usually alwasy back in when I park) Acts just like the e-brake is on or I have 5,000 rpm stall in it. Seems to be getting worse. Fluid is full, clean, truck has about 18k on it 5.7 hemi (I have owned since new) Exhaust and superchips programer in it with 35" toyo's. Just started doing this recently. I don't think the e-brake is hanging up really seems like the trans. I was unsure if it was going to move today. It's under warranty so I will take it in but like to be educated on it just in case. Are these trucks known for having any trany or torque conv. issues?

there was some issues back in 02 and possibly 03 where the fluid in the T.C. would drain out and if you immediately put it in gear then the person would experience the same symptoms that you are describing...i had this issue on my 02...if you start the truck and let it idle for a min then put it in gear it should be fine (if thats the problem) but might as well take it in as long as its under warranty

Should definitely be covered under the power train warranty. My '01 would do this after it sat for several days.

Mine does this also on cold starts and when accelerating the first time. For me it's my clutch fan being fully locked after sitting all night....i've had other trucks do it too and for me it's normal. It unlocks as soon as I drive about a block or so.
