January 31st, I bought my truck.

About a month later, theheater wentout,some of you may remember that was my intro.
Fixed(or so I thought), I just added antifreeze.

About 2 weeks later,the engine light came on, took it to autozone, they told us Cylinder 1 was misfiring,my bf, pulled the spark plugs, saw that were installed improperly,fixed it(or so we thought), the light went off and it started driving fine.

Sat, my bf put (2) JL Audio Subs and a amp in my truck, light came on that afternoon.

Sunday, went to cleburne to celebrate a birthday party, went to leave at 8, truck wouldnt start. Found the post was coroded, and tried jumping the truck, wouldnt start. My uncle(a mechanic) messed around with it and realized the engine was froze, one of the cylinders had **** in it, my dad, hand cranked the engine.

Dropped my bf off in GP(1 hr away from Cleburne)about 9/930, went to drive home (15 mins away), truck started over heating. Pulled over, bf came withsome water, and cooled it down. Attempted to drive home again, over heated, and pulled over, letit cool down. Attempted to drive again, over heated again, pulled over, and my truck died. Sat there for about 40 mins on the side of the highway, letting it cool down. My dad came,put some water in it. Made it home about 1040. Put a newbattery on it and put 3 GALLONS of water in it. Light went off,truck started driving fine.

So, me not being an idiot, decided I wouldnt drive it to work monday, but it was storming, so I couldntdrive my mustang cause it leaks.

So, me and mymom headed to McKinney(1 hr away)to the dealership Ibought the truck from. Waited another hour to beseen by the Used Car Manager, he told us the 30 dayWarrenty was over that the dealership offers, but he would have it looked at for free.

20 mins later, service guy comesup, a cylinder ismisfireing but since we are not a DodgeDealership, we can notread the code.
Theused car manager then decides "Oh yea, its a 2002 only has 46k miles on it, its still under DodgeWarrenty for the drivetrain!, I promise!! I know what Im talking about"

Yeah! Were so happy, we drive back to GP to a dodge dealership, "The dodge does not have warrenty after 3 yr/36k miles"

At this point, im furious. I have to leave my truck there so they can read the code..

I get a call this morning and the Cylinder Heads need to be replaced.

Which will come to the Grand Total of:

4,475!!!!

I just bought this truck Jan 31st!!!

So, ive been trying to get a hold of the General Manager at the Dealership I bought the truck from since that phone call and he isnt in yet...

I'm soo mad!!!

Damn, 5000$ on repairs, that sucks. I don't think that the general manager will do anything about it. You migth have to talk to a lawyer and see what your options are. The manager most likely won't want to fix the truck or take it back. Its worth giving it a try but don't put your hopes up...

WOW!!!! You should have bought a certified ram with the 8 year/80,000. I bought mine with like 39-40 ish and also got a 3 month/3,000 mile 100% cover warranty when I got it off the lot. How much did you purchase the truck for if you don't mind me asking? I bought my 04 4x4 for 12 after taxes, and with the warranty, I believe I got a pretty damn good deal. Anyway, see if they buy the damn thing back lol. You can find a similar one (v6-that's waht it looks like) for really cheap and the 8 year/80,000 around here if bought from dodge. That's why I bought mine from a 5 star stealership because they have taken care of me pretty damn well (can't believe I'm saying this about a dealership lol).

 

Really sorry about your uncle. That's why you should either buy a new truck or make sure that you buy the extended warranty. Always make sure you know what the remaining warranty is before you buy a used truck. Never believe what the salesman says especially since it sounds like you didn't buy the truck from a Dodge dealership. Really Really sorry to hear it

 

I couldnt buy a newer one bc I dont make enough money, I had a heart transplant and I have to pay for all my medical bills. And I didnt get the extended warranty for the same reason, I couldnt afford the price difference. My uncle is a mechanic and I figured whatever could be wrong with it, he could fix it. I was wrong..

And just to make things worse, I have 3 days left at my current job and my staffing firm isnt going to look for another job bc I take off too much to go to doctors appointments..

 

damn...sorry to hear about the bad luck your having today....seems like everyone is just tryin to screw you around and not willing to help at all....if theres anything we can do to help, just let us know.....keep us posted on how things are goin tho

So sorry to hear about all of this! I know that this will not make you feel any better but it sounds like a case of buyer beware. Can your uncle replace the heads for you since he is a mechanic?

 

I live in the DFW metroplex and I work for a core rig company as Document control. (lots of paperwork)

 

all i can tell you kendra is lemon law time.....one thing that seems to work is filing a complaint with your states attourney general....its free and it may help.....i had a solicitor trying to screw me with a bull**** thing i never ordered and all they had to do was call him.....it may work for your truck as well.....if not maybe we can take up a collection for you...I wouldnt mind helping you out a little bit....i dont have much and im saving up for this 3000 dollar tranny so......but if anyone else is interested....anyway good luck hopefully it will work out
