Default Ram clutch slipping/going bad

I have a 07 ram 2500 diesel 5.9L and the clutch is going out in result of our superchip flashpaq. Has anybody else had this problem?? The truck will be a year old in april '08 but we are over the 12k miles. I have heard the ram clutches are terrible!

You think that maybe the chip is making your clutch go bad? Why would it do that? I am not sure I follow.. Dodge had issues with their Automatic tranny's but I was not aware that their standard tranny's had issues.

you know what that means, right? get a new allison tranny!!! lol. jk. hey, if you go to the dealer, take out the chip and reset it all. they might give ya a lot of **** for having it and blame it all on the chip which you are hinting on as well. so just be careful with that. hopefully your warranty isnt voided and you can figure something out to your benefit with the dealer. good luck!!

HAHA that is funny...Allison Tranny!!! I have contacted chrysler and the local dodge dealer and they both say that havent had any problems with the manual tranny. Everyone that I have talked to locally who have chipped dodges have had to replace the clutches. We have had the truck chipped since sept 07 so it has only been6 months.

Putz

That is weird.. I have never heard of a manual clucth going out because of a chip... I believe you. Do you have the chip maxed out? Maybe it is to much torque and it is wearing the clutch out..... My brother has a 2001 2500 with a 5.9l and an Diablo tuner. He pulls a 35' fifth wheel and behind that he pulls a ski boat. He has never replaced the clutch on his truck (he only about 45k on his truck). I am just curious why at 12k you would need to replace it. There may be something else.. do you ride the clutch?
