Great how to.. Only thing I would like to add is on step 4 where you cut off a piece of the factory air box mount, if you unscrew the passenger side fender well and let it drop downyou can reach up and inbolt the mount from the frame. It only takes about 5 mins and really makes the install of the new CAI look "clean".

 

I am not shure who make sthe air filter on mine. All it says is "Chrome Intakes" on the end of the air filter. However, the construction of the filter isidentical to the APC filter sold at the local parts stores.

 

Well, installed my new CAI a little while ago and man, this thing really sucks some air. Can't wait to get it on the road, I would take it for a spin, except I'm at work right now...... prolly would have got in trouble for working on my truck..... but what they don't know won't hurt them. lol

it took me a while but i am finally gonna get a CAI. I just have some questions. First of all, will this fit an 08 ram?Next,how much did u really get it for off ebay with tax and shipping?Lastly, exactly how much power did u get off it? Also, this has nothing to do about it but the bosch spark plugs, exactly how much power did u get off those and are they worth the $30bux or so?

 

not sure on the exact number or n e thing....but the cai after shippn and tax was around 102bux or something like that and the spark plugs were like 35 buxs...and yes they were worth the money and yes they will pay for themselves over time and after a couple full ups at the gas station in todays world...

and idk if the cai i bought will fit on an 08....but just look around on ebay and im sure theres one out there for ya

the autozone guy said said the diff from the stock (old and chroded/rusted) spark plugs and bosch ones is huge....i went from a single tip to a quad tip and from crap to gold...so yea its all worth ur money....the better the spark plug the more the gas burns which comes down to less gas having to be burned everytime ur foot slips on the highway and ur hitn those higher rpms

 

i got the (total with s&h) $50 cai. not the k&n one though. i ordered it on sunday and hopefully get it in by the end of the week. ill tell you one thing, im gonna be on this thread reading it over while i do my cai did you purchase from insys-us or something like that? and how long before you got your cai?

 

i got mine from chromeintakes...but im sure their all the same...cant be too much of a difference if any.

i think mine took about a week to get in...about 5 business days

btw...if u have any questions about the cai...just ask cause theres a lot of us that have put em in throughout the past 2-3months...and im sure one of us could answer ur question....

o and u will be suprised in the mpg improvement...i went from a 260 miles to a tank to about 310 milesa tank

actually, the CAI cost $104.98 if u want to be exact.i should know i just bought the same one from the same guy, it just said 08 ram on the title but enough wit dat,i also got a question about the spark plugs-mine are practually brand new and so do u think i should go and get new ones right now?

 

oh, you got the k&n one. i got the cheapo one for a grand total of $48.72 with shipping and handling.

 

if i were u id call the dealership u got ur truck from and see what kind are in the truck....if they only have 1 prong then yes get new ones w/ 4 prongs...
