sweeeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!! It's not doing much good on your bed though.... LOL get that thing on already. :-) and thanks for taking the time to take pics..... I always have a hard time doing that because I'm too excited to get whatever it is I'm doing done. lol
ok...1st of all yea its no big deal i gotta digital camera so its a snap and go!!!....and G0tMudd idk about manuel but i did notice a difference all around on my automatic....it was like 35bux for 6 of em....i would say just do it cause ur gonna need to replace em soon anyways...it was worth the purchase for me...(look at my old spark plugs vs the new ones)...they are in my pics...
So here is the STEP BY STEP (OMFG NO WAY...but yes...step by step) manuel for you guys...this is a 80 dollar Cold Air Intake I purchased off ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29i ordered it monday and i got it friday...installed it saturday (all of this week)...it came with eveything seen in the above pictures...
AND REMEMBER THIS IS A 2005 DODGE RAM 1500 V6...so idk how engine spacing...etc is on other years *might b the same...idk
This Installation was VERY easy...i did not even look at the instructions...U DO NOT NEED BRACKETS...JUST ZIP TIES!!!
The Engine Before I Did Anything...

Step 1....Take that crappy air filter and cover off ur soon to be BEAST!!!...after you take all that off remove the brackets that were holding them in aswell...i dont have pics of it but i can tell what they are...DO NOT mess with the air filter mounting brackers (the piece that was on the left of the truck (it was mounted to a finder)i tried to take it off and it was a pain...and i wasted time only to find that it was bolted to the actual finder...

Ok you see that blue wire...well its a air sensor and YOU NEED IT...so if you bust it your screwed so take it out carefully....it should snap out the back and when u take off that "MAGNUM" box the actual air sensor w/o the wires should be stuck in there...take it off and place it somewhere you wont forget...you will be putting this in your new cold air intake

After you take those things off ur engine should look like this...

Now Take off the Resonator....that little black rubberish thing around the throttle body...(its gonna b stuck on there pretty good)

Step 2.....Replace the Air Hose...the kit i purchased came with a blue one...the black hose that was there before does not come out easily....i had to cut it off (i got a razer and cut vertically up the hose where it was connected and i pulled it right off) so throw that stock black one away...it wont fit the air intake....ok so this is where you are gonna have to get stuff....CLAMPS...you are gonna need 2 size 12 clamps (i think i was size 12)...these will secure that blue hose down so it wont go anywhere....i also cut my hose...cutting how much depends on you...remember your kit only includes one hose!

Step 3.....get yourair sinsor and put it in thehole on the back of thebigger pipe...there is a whole with a rubber ring around it...so just pop it in...there is a rubber gasket around the air sensor...i removed mine...but ill leave that up to you...get thebigger of the 2 pipes and connect it to the throttle body....CLAMP IT DOWN GOOD....but not too tight

ok now is when i attached that air hose into the pipe that conencted to the throttle body....and go ahead and hook up the wires that hook into the air sensor

Step 4....STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING BECAUSE UR GONNA WISH YOU DID THIS....previously there was a air filter here and the mounting hardware will get in your way if you do not cut some of it off...take a look at the pictures
BEFORE...

After....i ran into this problem because i tried to attach the 2nd pipe and filter....it was a very tight squeeze and hit the air filter hardware....

so i hope you can see where i sawed a piece of that hardware off....because i can....this will clear the way for the rest of the Air Intake system your putting in...you are going to need something to cut that little piece off....i used an electric saw...
Step 5...ok you will see that i used the rest of the hose that i cut off (the blue hose) to wrap around the place where you pull your dip stick outta...this is what i did after installation when i found out it was rattling but this fixed it....just cut some of the remaining hose and put it around that meter thing...i zipped tied it in 2 places so that it was secure...

Step 6....Attach the K/N air filter on the other (smaller) pipe.....clamp this down good (clamp came on filter)

BTW this is the filter you get...my hands r big so the size is smaller looking (im 6ft8' so u can imagine)

Step 7....attack the pipe you just connected the air filter onto the pipe connected to the throttle body....this is where i ran into the problem with spacing...so i had to screw around w/ finding ways to make it fit....you wont see the blue hose around the dip stick thing b/c i didnt put it on untill i found out that it rattled when i turned the car on...****VERY IMPORTANT....you see where the pipe overlaps the dip stick thingys....well zip tie those two pieces together....THIS IS YOUR "MOUNTING BRACKET" <--not in picture....but if you guys get confuded i will upload one...

Step 8.....Make sure none of your tools/bolts/screws are around the engine because when you turn it on they could fall in.....Oh Btw your done with installation...wasnt that easy
Step 9.....Turn your car on and listen to the A) LOUDER B) COOLER C) SUCKIER SOUNDING ENGINE!!!

well....how do i say this....YES!!! more of a kick and idles at lower rpms....faster to get to that 4rd gear at around 40mph...i can actually peel out now...yay!
also when u get to around 5k-7k rpms it sounds better....less like ur transmission is gonna bust....that video i uploaded is bad for shown off the sound...i will upload a new/better one.....but def YES a BIG performance boost from wha ive noticed....between the Cold air intake and spark plugs my truck has definitally become more of a powerhouse....louder/faster/and best of all more miles to the gallon!
