I bought some running boards with lights for dome, running (parking) and signal lights. For the life of me, I can't find the place to hook into the dome light. Do I have to run all the way up into the headliner for this? For parking/signal, I can probably go straight to the headlights. Any suggestions for getting to the dome light switch? Thisis on a 2008 Ram 1500 Quad cab...yeah, it's a hemi. Thanks!

That was my first route. I tapped in to the dome fuse wiringand didn't reallize that it's actually constantly hot, so the lights just stayed on regardless of whether the dome was on or not.

Seriously guys? There's nobody on this forum that has an answer?

Well, If I were you. I would use a switch with the power source you have now. something like this one.

That way whenever you want them on you can have them.

im not familiar with how the dome lites turn on, but I'll take a stab at this. ha ha....how do your dome lights come on, with the headlight switch, or do they have there own switch? Also do the dome lights come on when you turn on the headlights?

they should come on when u open the door, which leads me to my next question how come mine dont? lol they work though at the switch, which is where i would splice if i had running boards

I'm pretty sure that there is a relay that is triggered by either the door switches or the dash switch (whichever one is activated.) Why don't you just come off the relay?
