Vette Killer?????
As said, with enough money and taking the "truck" out of the truck, sure it's possible. I know our trucks have some ***** under the hood, but I didn't buy it with any delusions of outrunning a Corvette (or outrunning ANYTHING for that matter... I bought it to be a truck, not for street racing).
That being said, I saw a show on TV a while ago about someplace that took a CTD Dodge and turned it into an autocross vehicle. Pretty interesting. Pretty expensive...

The mods you listed won't even come close.
Those mods will only make you faster than a similar weight truck that is stock.
Like said, you have a truck, not a light weight sports car.
Also, like said, it will take 30K+ to do what you want to do.
Rebuilt forged engine
Forced Induction and tuning. Close to 10K right there.
Beefed up trans
Beefed up rear diff
Suspension to launch
Loss of a ton of weight
etc, etc, etc.

1. LOL...very true. but that could be fixed with some mods.
2. Are you sure its 500hp stock, i'm not talking about the ZO6.
3. I think it can be done with about $3k worth of work to the engine....BUT i could be wrong though...
ONE WAY TO FIND OUT>>>>>>>

If you want a good platform to startwith that is cheap...buy a LS1 f-body (98-02 camaro/trans am and their variants). Full bolt-ons, a baby cam and some stickies will put you in LS2 vette territory...or just go FI but it'll be more expensive. I bought a 2000 Z28 with 65k milesseveral years ago for 8,700...that's how cheap they are.

So, drop $8K on a Japanise inline 4 supersport motorcycle. Line up against the Vette... you win.

My Vette puts out 473 rwhp and weighs about 3,200 pounds so 3200/473 = 6.72 pounds per HP. My truck weighs about 5,200 so I would need 773.8 HP at the rear wheels just to keep up with my car. Of course to beat a stock Corvette you could get by with a bit less. You're right, I can think of better ways to spend my hard earned money.
