transmissions in the new dodges

how well do the transmissions hold up under alot of power

Towing is fine, under lots, ie boosted, power its real questionable.
Just make sure you tow in tow/haul and hot rod in o/d off.
The weak link in these tranny's is the 2nd prime gear, specifically downshifts to it under heavy load/power. The tow/haul and od off lock out this gear, so it's not an issue.

going to build a 5.7 hemi and put it in a 95 dakota mabey making 500 horses and a good shot of gas think a built trans will hold up to that dont really know a whole lot abot the newer trucks
On forums that are more geared toward the Performance Shops and major gear heads, the consensus is that 320-340 RWHP or about 430-450 at the engine is the mark where stock trannies start to tear up in 1500 & 2500 series trucks. You can basically add about 90 HP or so to a stock Hemi truck before having to think major upgrade to the tranny.
When I add the Cam to my current mods I'm going to be well into that area and don't think I haven't given a lot of thought to the added expense of bringing the tranny up to spec...
